The P. Perichi Gounder Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust (PPG Trust), established in 1992 by the esteemed Dr. L.P. Thangavelu, a leading Laparoscopic Surgeon in Coimbatore, is dedicated to fostering educational excellence in Tamil Nadu. With a strong commitment to shaping future educators, the Trust inaugurated PPG College of Education in 2005, aiming to provide exceptional teacher Education Programs.

In 2006, the college expanded its academic horizons by introducing the Postgraduate degree in Education (M.Ed.), further enhancing its role in the professional development of educators.
