Placement cell

The Placement Cell in PPG College of education plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic education and professional employment. It is responsible for facilitating the placement of students in various educational institutions.  


Objectives

  • To connect students with prospective employers through on-campus recruitment drives, ensuring that students secure positions in schools, colleges.  
  • To organize workshops and training sessions that enhance students’ employability skills, including communication, teaching methodologies. 
  • To guide students in creating effective resumes and cover letters that reflects their skills, experiences, and aspirations.
  • To establish and maintain relationships with schools, colleges ensuring a diverse range of employment opportunities for students.
  • To provide personalized career counselling to students, helping them identify their strengths, career interests, and suitable job roles.
  • To inform students about the various career paths available in the education sector, including teaching, administration, curriculum design, educational technology, and research.
  • To regularly collect and analyse placement data, ensuring continuous improvement in the placement process and outcomes.
  • To obtain feedback from employers and students to refine the placement process and address any gaps in student preparedness.
  • To engage alumni in placement activities by involving them in mentorship programs, guest lectures, and recruitment processes.
  • To assist alumni in finding new employment opportunities, especially those looking to transition to different roles within the education sector.


Functions

  • To contact potential employers, share information about the college’s programs, and invite them to participate in campus recruitment drives.
  • To conduct mock interviews and group discussions to prepare students for actual recruitment processes.
  • To organize workshops on resume writing, interview skills, communication, and other relevant topics that enhance employability.
  • To offer personality development programs that focus on building confidence, leadership skills, and professional performance.
  • To maintain a comprehensive database of students’ academic records, resumes, and placement preferences, ensuring efficient matching with job opportunities.
  • To keep in touch with alumni and involve them in placement activities, mentorship, and guest lectures.
  • To follow up with employers after recruitment drives to gather feedback on the performance of recruited students and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
