The Research Club at PPG College of Education is an energetic platform dedicated to fostering research and innovation in education. Activities are primarily conducted through research colloquiums, providing an engaging space for intellectual discussions and knowledge sharing.
In the first semester, students must identify two distinct research problems and draft detailed research proposals for submission to the College/Department. The Principal or Head of the Department will form a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) to oversee these activities.
The RAC will consist of:
1. The student’s supervisor.
2. Two senior faculty members at the M.Ed. level.
Roles of the Research Advisory Committee:
Once finalized by the RAC, the proposals will be forwarded by the Principal to the Controller of Examinations, Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, for further review and approval. This process ensures rigorous evaluation and quality in research activities undertaken by M.Ed. students.
In the second semester, the Principal or Head of the Department shall organize a Research Colloquium. This platform allows each student to present their research proposal before peers and faculty.
Roles of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC):
The Research Colloquium promotes critical discussion and enhances the quality of research by encouraging interaction and academic exchange.
In the third semester, each prospective teacher educator must select or develop appropriate research tools/instruments and begin data collection related to their research problem. The Principal or Head of the Department will organize a Research Colloquium to provide a
platform for students to present the adoption or development of their research tools/instruments.
Roles of the Research Advisory Committee (RAC):
This process encourages the development of practical research skills and enhances the quality of tools and methods used in research projects.
In the fourth semester, prospective teacher educators are required to complete the data analysis, interpret the results, and submit their dissertation before the commencement of the fourth semester theory examinations.
The Principal or Head of the Department will organize a Research Colloquium where each student will present their dissertation findings before submission to the University for External Evaluation. This presentation is subject to the approval of the Research Advisory Committee.

This process ensures that the dissertation is thoroughly reviewed and ready for external assessment. The Research Club ensures the smooth coordination and execution of these activities, offering support, guidance, and feedback through each stage of the research
process.
