Red Ribbion Club

The objectives and activities of a Red Ribbon Club can differ based on its specific focus. The program officer Mrs. D.Anitha, Assistant professor, PPG College of Education, Coimbatore trained and executing the activities by collaborating with TamilNadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), Chennai. The club is dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, its main goals and activities include:

Objectives:

  • To increase awareness about HIV/AIDS, its transmission, and prevention methods.
  • To motivate and develop youth as peer educators and change agents by strengthening their skills in leadership, negotiation, and team building.

Activities:

  • Conducting educational sessions on HIV/AIDS, its prevention, transmission, and the importance of safe practices.
  • Organizing public rallies to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and eliminate the stigma associated with it.
  • Creating awareness among the students and community members about the importance of blood donation and its role in saving lives.
  • Hosting sessions to promote mental well-being, stress management, and support for those dealing with mental health issues.
  • Conducting workshops to develop leadership skills among youth, empowering them to take on roles in health promotion.
  • Training students to become peer educators to spread awareness and provide support to their peers.
  • Hosting special events, discussions, and campaigns to commemorate World AIDS Day.
  • Engaging in activities that focus on youth empowerment and health education.
