The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of PPG College of Education conducted a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Red Ribbon – A Symbol of Hope”. The event was organized with the objective of creating awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, promoting compassion, and encouraging students to express social messages through art.
The programme began with a warm welcome to the participants, followed by a brief introduction about the significance of the Red Ribbon, which represents care, support, and hope for people living with HIV. Students were motivated to convey strong awareness messages through creative visuals and meaningful slogans.
A special Guest Lecture was delivered by Dr. G. Vinitha, Professor, who addressed the students on the importance of understanding HIV/AIDS, removing stigma, maintaining safe and healthy practices, and spreading empathy within the community. Her speech highlighted how the Red Ribbon stands as a global symbol of solidarity and support, encouraging society to stand against discrimination.
The Poster Making Competition saw enthusiastic participation from B.Ed. and M.Ed. students. They created vibrant posters depicting themes such as “End AIDS,” “Stop the Stigma,” “Hope and Support,” and “Awareness for a Healthy Future.” The creative artwork and thoughtful messages reflected the students’ awareness and commitment to social causes.
The programme concluded with appreciation for all participants and recognition of the efforts taken by the Red Ribbon Club to promote health awareness among future educators.
