Dr. S. Hemamalini received the Second Prize in an Article Writing Competition organized by Shantha Publishers for her article titled “Academic Stresses and Solutions in Teacher Education.”

The article focused on the various challenges and sources of stress experienced by teachers and teacher educators in the present educational scenario. It particularly discussed job insecurity, professional ethics, and the challenges faced by teacher education institutions following the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).

The article highlighted how job insecurity and changing professional demands can contribute to stress among teachers. It also emphasized the importance of professional ethics, commitment, accountability, and maintaining professional values in the teaching profession. Further, the article discussed the difficulties encountered by teacher education institutions in adapting to the new guidelines and structural changes introduced through NEP, including the need to meet changing academic requirements and expectations.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at Dr. Radhakrishna House, Chennai. Dr. S. Hemamalini was honoured with the Second Prize and a cash award of ₹7,000, which was presented by Educational Minister Shri Raj Mohan.
