On January 5, 2025, PPG College of Education, Shri Venkateshwara Diabetic Care, and Kurudampalayam Panchayat organized a Diabetic Awareness Program in Kathirnaicken Palayam village, drawing over 95 participants from the local community. The program aimed to educate attendees on diabetes, its prevention, and effective management.

Dr. Prasanna, an expert in diabetes care, led an engaging session explaining the nature of diabetes, its causes, and management strategies, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, proper medication, and consistent blood sugar monitoring. He stressed the importance of lifestyle changes while highlighting the role of medication and routine check-ups for effective control.

Adding to the program, students from the PPG Institute of Optometry conducted free eye check-ups, emphasizing the link between diabetes and eye health. Public health services like sugar and blood pressure checks were provided, ensuring a holistic approach to diabetes care. The event was well-received, leaving a lasting impact by encouraging healthier lifestyles and better diabetes management within the community.
