An expert session on “Research Methodology and Dissertation Concept” was organized for the M.Ed. students to enhance their understanding of educational research and dissertation writing on 20.04.2026. The session was handled by Dr. S. Navaneetham, Associate Professor, DKT College of Education.

The session focused on the importance of research in education and the various steps involved in conducting a systematic study. Dr. S. Navaneetham explained the meaning, objectives, and types of research methodologies used in educational research. The resource person also elaborated on the structure and components of a dissertation, including selection of the research problem, review of related literature, formulation of hypotheses, sampling techniques, tools for data collection, analysis, and interpretation of data.

The session provided clear guidance on how to prepare a dissertation effectively and maintain academic standards in research writing. Practical suggestions were shared regarding topic selection, citation methods, and report preparation. The interaction session enabled students to clarify their doubts related to dissertation work and research procedures.
