A statue of Mahatma Gandhi was unveiled at PPG Group of Institutions in a grand ceremony on 09.06.2025, graced by Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman of the Kumaraguru Group of Institutions. The event was presided over by Dr. L.P. Thangavelu, Chairman of PPG Group of Institutions, in the presence of Secretary Mrs. Shanthi Thangavelu, and Vice Chairman, Mr. Akshay Thangavel, faculty members, and students from PPG Group of Institutions.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar spoke on the relevance of Gandhian thought (Gandhiya Sinthanai) in today’s world. He paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and other great freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation's independence. He emphasized the importance of embracing Gandhi’s principles especially non-violence as a powerful tool for social change and personal development.

Dr. Vanavarayan urged the students to take a solemn oath and to carry out the Gandhiji’s vision of harmonious and progressive India. He encouraged them to adopt Gandhian values in their daily lives and contribute to build up a peaceful society rooted in truth, compassion, and non-violence.

The event concluded with the National Anthem and reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
