Observance of Anti-Ragging Week

In accordance with the directive from Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, the institution observed Anti-Ragging Week from 12th August 2024 to 18th August 2024. Mrs. D. Anitha, the Faculty Representative, conducted various competitions and activities throughout the week and ensured that all the events were well-organized and that students participated actively.
The purpose of this week-long observance was to create awareness about the adverse effects of ragging and to foster a campus environment where mutual respect and dignity are upheld.

Activities Conducted:

Competitions:

An essay writing, Slogan writing, logo  and poster creation competitions were organized for the students, focusing on the theme " #YaARI Youth Against Ragging. The competition encouraged students to express their thoughts and ideas on how ragging can be eradicated and how students can contribute to making the campus a safer and more inclusive space. These activities aimed to inspire creativity while spreading a strong message against the practice of ragging. The prize winners of the essay writing  competition were Manimegalai and Ranjeetha of second year B.Ed., Poster and logo creation were creation Tamiludaya and Priyadharshini of Second year M.Ed.

Short Film Creation:

As part of the observance, students worked together to create a short film highlighting the dangers and consequences of ragging. The film also emphasized the importance of a supportive and welcoming environment for new students. The short film served as a powerful medium to convey the anti-ragging message.    

Posting of Events:

All events and activities conducted during the Anti-Ragging Week were documented and posted on the official anti-ragging website. This initiative not only helped in creating a record of the observance but also allowed for the sharing of the institution’s efforts with a broader audience, further promoting the anti-ragging message.

Outcome:

The Anti-Ragging Week was observed with great enthusiasm by the students and faculty. The activities conducted during the week significantly contributed to raising awareness about the serious implications of ragging and the importance of maintaining a ragging-free environment within the campus. The participation of students in various competitions and their collective effort in creating a short film demonstrated their commitment to the cause.
